Services Offered by the Clearview Public Library
The Clearview Public Library Board would like to familiarize you with its services and policies. All of our branches have books to satisfy a wide variety of interests and ages, but we also can provide you with a variety of items including: magazines, overhead & slide projectors, meeting rooms, local history, display cases, books on tape, videos & dvds, microfilm & microfilm readers,
newspapers (and archives), vertical files, cds, photocopiers, fax machines, job banks, inter-library loans and programming for all ages!
Membership
Residents of Clearview, Adjala-Tosorontio, and Mulmur Townships are provided library services free of charge.
Persons living outside of Clearview and its contracting municipalities must pay an annual non-resident fee of $35 per family to borrow materials from the library.
Borrowing
Books, magazines, other printed materials and books on cassette/CD are loaned for a two week period. One two week renewal is permitted on printed material, unless a reserve has been placed on an item or it is "NEW". A fine of 10 cents per day per item, to a maximum of $4 per item, is payable for overdues. Overdue fines for print items obtained through inter-library loan are 25 cents per day.
VHS and DVDs are loaned for a 7 day period. One 7 day renewal is permitted, unless a reserve has been placed on the video\DVD. A fine of $1.50 per day per video\DVD, to a maximum of $10 per video\DVD, is payable for overdues. Patrons will be loaned a maximum of 5 videos\DVDs per day. Ask the staff about the "all you can watch" annual video\DVD insurance fee of $25!
Photocopying
Patrons will be charged $0.25 cents per single sheet, any size of paper, and $0.25 cents per single sheet for enlargement and reductions.
Patrons are allowed 4 free photocopies of REFERENCE ONLY materials.
Faxing
Patrons will be charged $2 for the first sheet of a fax sent within Ontario, and $1.50 for each additional sheet. For faxes sent outside Ontario the charge will be $2.50 for the first sheet and $2 for each additional sheet. The first sheet of a fax shall be a Clearview Public Library cover sheet.
Patrons will be charged $1.50 per page to receive a fax.
Internet Access
Clearview Public Library has public Internet Access at all three branches. There is no charge for this service.
Printing charges of 25 cents per page do apply.
Meeting Room
Applicants must pay in advance of the rental date (receipts issued on request). Only Library equipment may be used, e.g. dishes, kettle, TV, etc. Applicants assume responsibility for any damages/injuries while on the premises. Rates are as follows:
Displays/Exhibits - 20% of Sales
Meeting Room - $15.00
Meeting Room & Equipment - $23.00
Meeting Room & Kitchen - $20.00
Meeting Room, Equipment, Kitchen - $30.00
Equipment Rental
Applicants must pay in advance of the rental date for the equipment to be used off of Library premises (receipts issued on request). Applicants assume responsibility for any damages to equipment during the rental period. Rates are as follows:
Slide Projector $10
Overhead Projector $10
Screen $4
Late returns will be charged $2 per day.
