Story Hour
Story Hour is a very educational and fun time for children at the library. Children ages 3 - 5 years are able to come to the library and read about a lot of interesting things. Children are also able to create and design wonderful crafts, colour pictures and create a lot of neat stuff! For more information and Story Hour times contact your library branch for details.
Ontario Early Years Program
Ontario Early Years Programs are wonderful and educational for parent/caregiver and child alike. During this time parents take part with their children in a range of pograms and activities. parents are able to get information about programs and services that are available for young children. As well as talk to early years professionals, as well as other parents and caregivers in the community. For more information about this program contact your library branch.
Paws To Read
Paws to Read with Shadow and Brenda is a great way to help your child feel more confident in their reading. Shadow is a graduate of the Therapy Dogs of Canada program and has a great deal of experience with helping kids learn to read. Children sign up for a fifteen minute session every Thursday evening from 6:30 - 7:30 at the Stayner Branch. The child picks out a book that they wish to read and they and Shadow sit in a nice quiet place and read! Brenda is often there to help with difficult words as well as to offer encouragement.

Employment Workshops
Employment Workshops presented by Career Access Centre provides resources and information for job seekers in area. Workshops, provided by Leisha Knapp, are also available on writing your resume, writing cover letters, preparing for an interview and how to use the internet search for information. Booking a one-on-one session with Leisha will help you focus on where you stand in the job market and what you need to do to reach your goals.
Free, pre-booked sessions are bi-weekly at the Stayner Branch and run from 10:30 - 1:30. Workshops run from 2:00 - 4:30 beginning Tuesdays. Register by calling 428-3595.
Breaking Down Barriers
Breaking Down Barriers is a monthly support group for people with health challenges in the area. Input from the community as to their needs such as accessible transportation, home car and attendant care.
